Multevo is a multi-service provider delivering end-to-end solutions across highways, civils, vegetation management, arboriculture, plant maintenance, and traffic management. Acting as a one-stop shop, they self-deliver all services using in-house teams and specialist equipment, ensuring quality, efficiency, and innovation. They partner with local authorities, contractors, and developers nationwide, driving social value, sustainability, and collaborative success in every project.
Before upgrading, Multevo used Sage 50, which presented several operational limitations. The system was slow, lacked advanced reporting capabilities, and required frequent manual updates that often-disrupted functionality. Reporting was cumbersome, teams had to manually export data to create graphs and insights, leading to inefficiencies. Because Sage 50 was a desktop-based cloud solution, technical issues like failed updates and connection errors sometimes resulted in data loss or overwriting.
Multevo considered Sage 300 but ultimately chose Sage Intacct due to its superior reporting capabilities and cloud-native platform. Real-time dashboards, automated and batch reporting, and the ability to provide managers with immediate access to key data were key factors. Sage Intacct met their evolving needs for insight, flexibility, and performance, making it a clear choice for scaling the business.
Multevo initially considered working directly with Sage for their Sage Intacct implementation but was referred to X3 Consulting with Sage’s full support. Early in the process, Multevo encountered several setup challenges, such as misunderstandings around tax codes, incorrect stock allocations, and confusion transitioning from Sage 50’s VAT structure. These issues created friction during the initial configuration and highlighted gaps in understanding around how Sage Intacct handled certain financial processes.
X3 Consulting played a critical role in resolving these issues. They worked closely with Multevo during the testing phase, identifying and correcting setup errors before going live. Through weekly support meetings and what Multevo referred to as a “snagging list,” X3 Consulting helped smooth out the transition, ensuring the system was aligned with Multevo’s operational needs. While some minor frustrations with the software itself remain, Multevo credits X3 Consulting for their responsive, hands-on support and helping them reach a stable and productive setup.
“I absolutely love working with James and Steph from X3 Consulting—they’ve been fantastic. We built a great relationship with them throughout the implementation. Once everything was set up the way we needed, using Sage Intacct became incredibly easy. The reporting, the automations, and just how intuitive it all is, it’s been brilliant.”

Since adopting Sage Intacct, Multevo has experienced significant improvements in reporting, efficiency, and decision-making. One of the standout benefits has been the automation of reports, key financial and operational insights are now automatically emailed to managers weekly, replacing the previous manual process of compiling and exporting data. This shift has saved the team considerable time and effort while giving managers greater visibility and control over their numbers in real time.
The ability to drill down into detailed financial data by division—such as highways or civils—has enhanced forecasting and performance tracking across different sectors. Previously time-consuming tasks like building profit and loss reports by project are now done at the click of a button, dramatically reducing manual workload and allowing for faster, data-driven decisions.
New dashboards are being rolled out across departments, providing instant access to tailored insights. Managers now have dynamic tools at their fingertips, with filters to explore specific areas without needing complex exports or manual analysis. Core processes like purchase orders, receipting, invoicing, VAT returns, and month-end reporting have become more streamlined, stable, and efficient—free from the system crashes and delays previously experienced with legacy software.
Overall, Sage Intacct has empowered the Multevo team to work smarter, not harder, delivering deeper insights, faster reporting, and greater operational efficiency across the board.
