Challenge
In October 2018, following a change of management, the new Cygnia Logistics Management team restarted the Sage X3 project. After an internal review, it quickly became apparent that the current delivery process wasn’t going to achieve the project aim of being live before Easter 2019. Cygnia required a new partner to overhaul the implementation and ensure the minimum amount of disruption to the business. The upgrade would need to be seamless and all this had to be planned and delivered within a very tight timeframe.
The business needed better financial visibility, greater fiscal controls and improved efficiency across the finance and distribution processes as a whole. This was made even more challenging by industry changes; including globalisation and increased customer demands. Cygnia Logistics needed to bring purchasing, warehousing, sales, and financials together so everyone could operate with the same information. The solution was Sage X3 Distribution, which would increase overall efficiency and provide better insight into the operational costs and margins for the business globally.

Result
The investment in Sage X3 Distribution has allowed the Cygnia to move to an automated finance and distribution process. The business now has visibility of its entire inventory for all sites and timely, accurate figures on supplier liabilities. Cygnia Logistic has succeeded in reducing the lead time to producing final accounts by over 50%. Integration with mobile clients and the electronic document management has reduced the purchasing process and produced greater control over expenditure.
